Here is my fic rec list for 2024! Not all fanfics are from this year, these are just the ones I caught myself reading and enjoying.

Bearing Weight by Kalira

Woo Bin would do anything for his friends - for any of them. If all he can do is be there, and try to pry Ji Hoo out of his own head . . . well, that's what he's there for. Whether Ji Hoo really wants to allow support or not.

This one was a nice gem to find this year. I love fics focused on the F4 friendship and the Woobin and Jihoo one has been on my mind lately (mostly because I keep writing them interacting in my own fic), so I was very happy when I saw someone post a fic focused on them. It's great and a nice character exploration of them (and even Jihoo's grandfather)!

A Chance Encounter by GrannyWeatherwax

Alternate Universe Five years after Gu Jun Pyo goes ahead with his marriage to Ha Jae Kyung, Gu Jun Pyo and Geum Jan Di find themselves snowed-in at a familiar ski resort on Christmas Eve.

I've recommended this one before and I'll recommend it again because I can. I don't know why I keep reading AUs where things start out wrong for this ship, I think I just like suffering 😂. My favorite thing in this fic is how the writer got in Jandi's head and her job.

Daomings Play for Keeps by Anna_Dromeda

Set during episode eight, Shancai never goes down to the beach and kisses Lei, but instead wakes up Ah Si in her usual violent manner and tells him to get his lazy butt down to the beach to comfort his friend during his time of crisis. This goes about as well as you would expect. Shancai, realizing she has feelings for both boys, gets it into her head that she is just a game to Daoming Si, and vows to play to win. Her proposal? A one-month trial period of no fighting or possessive idiocy. His solution? A relationship agreement. What could possibly go wrong here?

This fic is so funny i can't even begin to describe it. Love the interactions between the F4 and how over the top everything is (very in character). Seriously recommend.

Even If I Can’t Remember You by Toffeemond

Tsukasa didn’t remember Tsukushi and that was the end to their love story. Or it should have been. But eight years later, two grown people get a second chance to pick up the pieces and try again.

Again, I'm torturing myself with a fic where this ship start out suffering. It's really good and the side ships caught me by surprise. Waiting for the updates.

This one started recently, so it only has two chapters yet but I'm keeping an eye on it because it looks promising. I've always wanted to read a royalty au about them!

"if you don't stop coming in here to bother me, my knife will meet your face" taerae scoffs as he points the scalpel towards the figure who waltzes into his office, his voice full of contempt. yn lets out a gasp, stepping back a little bit.

"calm down mr. kim, if you do so you'll have to think about your murder case in the future, gunwook will be sad" yn shrugs, a vicious smile tugging at his lips.

taerae huffs, rolling his eyes as he gently places the scalpel down onto the examining table. he clicks his tongue and turns to yn, who smiles even larger at him.

"what do you need then, detective? hurry up i don't have that much time for you" taerae's voice calms down, but the clear annoyance is still there. yn sighs and shakes his head, used to this behavior.

"just the usual, i need the autopsy report for the case jeonghyeon's holding" he begins. "also, mind coming with me to mr. uehara's office?" he inquires, and taerae's eyebrows knit together.

taerae stares at the taller, contemplating.

was officer seok matthew not in today? that's quite unusual, he thinks.

"where's your partner?" he asks, pulling off his gloves and disposing of them. he again narrows his eyes at yn's smile. "ah, matthew? he's with keita, you know, he needs assistance after the whole incident".

taerae huffs, crossing his arms. "not you and that bibliography or, magazine, or whatever? your so full of yourself" yn laughs, a faux grimace coming to his face.

"your one mean person mr. kim, you know how hard jihoo worked for that piece to sell, it tells the amazing stories of me as a detective! even gunwook loves it, you can ask mr. chen too" yn beamed, his smile teasing, ticking off any of the remaining patience taerae had left.

"acting as if you didn't almost get jihoo arrested for a crime he didn't commit" taerae mutters meanly under his breath, snapping his head to the other direction.

yn grimaces, a real one this time.

"that was my job! i just sought out the truth".

taerae snickers, turning his head towards yn. "not during the trials you didn't, that was all chen and lee".

"but if it wasn't for me, no evidence would've been presented! i still did play a big role!" yn huffs in ignorance, taerae simply looks him up and down.

"you know what? here's the autopsy report you've been asking for, be off now" taerae places the autopsy report on the desk, turning away from yn and hoping he'll leave, even though he knows it won't do the trick.

"what? not to be rude but you still have to accompany me to mr. uehara's office" yn stood there, confused. taerae chuckles at his words, not taking them seriously.

"i don't think you'll need my help, can't you just go ask lee to help you with that task?" taerae looks back, a smile on his face, showcasing his deep dimples.

"no, jeonghyeon is busy with the trial, your the only one who can go to the office with me" yn walks over to taerae, and the shorter sighs. "your a grownup are you not? so you getting lost in seoul while looking for mr. uehara's office seems pretty impossible" taerae's voice was much calmer, his smile not fading.

"i'll treat you to lunch if you accompany me, besides, it's hotaek who usually goes to mr. uehara's office, not me" yn replied.

"lunch? are you ridiculous?" taerae scoffs. "we aren't even acquainted, what makes you think you can bribe me?"

okay, that's a lie, they are acquainted, and they have been for as long as they can remember, but close? taerae would never say he was close to yn.

"oh yes we are, gunwook likes me, admires me even! we've been acquainted since our first case together back when we both still resided in chungcheongnam-do" yn smiled, though his cheeks flushed.

it must be the temperature.

but they're inside a coroners laboratory?

taerae decides to brush it off.

"i.. ugh— fine, just to get this case through, i'll come with you" taerae sees yn's eyes light up, which is exactly why he continues.

"but, you should refrain from bothering me, that's all i ask" and again, before yn can give a response, taerae pushes past him, grabbing his coat and walking out of the door.

Rising K-pop boy group EVNNE will be bringing their highly anticipated first solo concert to Singapore this July. Organised by FriedRice Entertainment, the 2025 EVNNE CONCERT ‘SET N GO’ SINGAPORE will take place on 19 July 2025 (Saturday), 6PM, at The Theatre at Mediacorp.

Formed under Jellyfish Entertainment, EVNNE consists of seven members: KEITA, PARK HANBIN, LEE JEONGHYEON, YOO SEUNGEON, JI YUNSEO, MUN JUNGHYUN and PARK JIHOO. Since debuting on 19 September 2023 with their mini album ‘Target: ME’, the group has rapidly gained attention for their dynamic performances. Their latest comeback on 10 February 2025 with fourth mini album ‘HOT MESS’ further cemented their status as a rising force in the K-pop industry.

EVNNE held their first solo concert, 2025 EVNNE CONCERT ‘SET N GO’ SEOUL, with two sold-out shows at YES24 Live Hall in Seoul on 5 and 6 April. The concert was also streamed live online, allowing fans around the world to join the start of their global tour.

Following the Seoul kickoff, EVNNE will embark on their global tour, with Singapore as one of the 11 stops. Through this tour, EVNNE aims to further solidify their position as a leading global K-pop group. In addition to the diverse group performances, fans can also look forward to be captivated by the unit stages.

a/n: i am really sorry for the lack of update,, life has been unexpectedly busy and i kinda got stumped with this story because i originally had an outline on this but i suddenly got an idea so i didn't really know which one to go with

for those confused, this is a flashback from a year ago. chaeyoung and oc were two timed by a guy named jihoo and neither of them knew. both thought that they were cheated on hence the trashtalking/fight.

on taehyung's part, oc hooked up with him to get her mind off of her ex, who at this moment she's still very hung up on.

Actually, I recently wrote a fic with the same opening sequence starring Jaehyun 🫣

I don’t know yet whether it will follow the same story line or lie more on the romcom side… but it surely won’t be as long and complicated as Sinned was! This fic was very progressed with more than 40 chapters already and I actually did map out the entire thing. A dive into my drive made me stumble over my notes as well, so I’m just gonna put them under the cut.

This is from at least 8 years ago and I don’t even know whether it all makes sense, I still hope it will help you find a bit closure 🫠😇

March the year prior: Junseo met Ahri for the first time

Early winter: Luhan needs money for the emergency operation, asks Jihoo

Jihoo gives him, vengeance

Junseo joined, because he wanted to be with Ahri, used Jiyoun because he knew she’d do anything for him.

Jihoo only used Junseo and never wanted to give Ahri to him. He wanted to get rid of Luhan and Ahri from the very beginning.

Junseo kicked Jiyoun out after he changed sides (when Ahri rejected him, after the sports event), but she continued, because she was mad that, even if Ahri treated him like that, he’s still after her and wanted revenge.

Jiyoun is in love with Junseo and joined because he told her they could be together if she’d help him to break apart Luhan and Ahri (drugged Ahri at the party (wanted her to make out with someone else), stole Luhan’s money), but even when he found out what a slut Ahri was, he was willing to still stay by her side, which made Jiyoun mad, because Ahri is always seen as an angel.

Ahri knows one of the voices, the female one, Junseo tells Luhan Ahri is threatened, calls him alter and reveals him as the culprit whereas Ahri knows who the real one is (Jiyoun + Jinhee), had begun to work against them, The scribbling on the board was there to make Ahri trust him. He sent Ahri the threats before, but he got so shocked that she still got some because he begged Jiyoun to stop it after the scribbling on the board, she deceived him. He can’t tell anything because he’s pretending to be on their side to save ahri.

Jihoo and Jiyoun hate Luhan because he ruined his relationship with Minhee which is why he wants to ruin L-A’s relationship too. “I despise you, Luhan. And I despise her too.” Since Jiyoun is in love with Luhan, he helps to bring Luhan and Ahri apart and at the same time take revenge for his former relationship. Junseo was in this too since he wanted Ahri (knows Jihoo as well) but sees that he doesn’t have a chance and changed sides. Jihoo had despised Ahri too since she had always been the spoilt kid and her father had never really paid attention to her.

Luhan finds out that Junseo is the culprit by finding the messages on his phone but it was Jiyoun later on who took over it after he had changed the sides and Ahri knows this.

Ahri breaks off with Lu Han after Junseo told her everything (also that Jihoo knows that they’re together). They make a plan together that night and don’t tell Luhan to not cause him more problems. Also Ahri doesn’t tell Luhan it’s her step brother because she knows he would take even more care of him.

Luhan meets Junseo at the party and asks him but Junseo tells him nothing and Luhan thinks he’s Ahri’s new boyfriend because she’s fed up with his fucked up life. Like Luhan wanted to protect Ahri with not telling her everything, she now does the same to protect him.

Behind his back, Ahri collects money and asks his friends and Luhan is unaware of it. Through this, he finds out that she still loves him. They sleep together, though Ahri pretends to regret it. Luhan thanks her anyway.

Jiyoun, who drives the car, tells Ahri everything but Ahri stays quiet the entire time and in the end, Ahri is like “I know.” And points the gun at her. “Now pull over, bitch, or I will blow your brain away.”

On doomsday Luhan tells her to stay home but she goes anyway. Luhan should just worry about money while Ahri manages the rest.

Ahri’s father appears and clears it up.

Last scene: Ahri graduates high school a year later than everyone else and Luhan waits for her as she holds her graduation speech.

My fics of 2024

I was going to make a post like this last year but I forgot... 😔 But okay, I can make one for this year!

If I look at my 2024 fics, this has been the year of the side characters. All of my posted and updated fics are focused on side characters! Completely unintended. And also all my fics have been for the same fandom, despite my unfinished drafts for other fandoms gathering dust on my pc, lol.

Another thing I've noticed is that all my fics have been getting longer. What I would consider a multi chapter fic years ago is a regular one shot for me this year. lol

Flower boy in a broken vase (Yijung/Gaeul, one shot, kdramaverse)

My Yijung/Gaeul hanahaki AU where I changed the hanahaki rules to my liking. Also the first fic focused on this pairing I've posted online (they are usually the side pairing in my fics). As a Sojiro fan, it was about time I wrote something focused on him. It was fun to make Yijung suffer and, yes, my throat did hurt writing the first draft for this. 😩 I guess it's karma.

Talking about drafts, this fic took so many drafts to finish, I'm pretty sure I had 3 or 4 different docs for this fic because I couldn't decide where to take the plot or what the writing style should be. I ended up being pretty satisfied with the final result, I think it's my best fic up to now.

Consequences of a night of (not) studying (Kazuya/Sakurako, one shot, mangaverse)

This fic had been sitting on my docs unpublished for literal years because I didn't think anybody would read a fic for side characters (especially considering how dead the hanadan animanga tag is). Shout out to @helenrourke for motivating me to post it! I rewrote the old unpublished draft and it ended up being my last fic of this year and a way to break my posting drought!
